1. Use Salt To Clean Your Iron

Pour salt on your ironing board, and then run the warm iron over the salt. This will help to remove stains off the iron plate without the need for scrubbing.

2. Clean Fan Blades With A Pillow Case

Clean the dust and grime builds up on ceiling fan blades by simply using a pillow case. Grab an old pillowcase and spray the inside with a cleaning solution made from water and white vinegar. Slide the pillowcase over each blade and use it to clean and trap the dust and grime from each blade.

Wooden cutting boards can trap food debris in their nicks and cuts, so it’s important to clean them regularly. Here’s a simple way to clean and disinfect wooden cutting boards with just some salt and lemon. Sprinkle coarse salt all over the surface of the board. Next, squeeze the juice from half of a lemon onto the board. Now using a small scrub brush, work the salt and lemon into the board. This will help get rid of any residual food and sanitize the board.

Fill a plastic bag with a white vinegar and secure it around shower head with a rubber band. Let it soak for 1 hour. Wipe it clean with a wet cloth and it’ll be good as new.

5. Baking Soda & Aluminum Foil for Sparkling Silverware

To make your silverware clean and shiny again, cover a large glass baking pan with aluminum foil, add a 1/2 cup of table salt and a 1/2 cup of baking soda. Add your silverware into it making sure each piece touches foil. Now add enough boiling water to immerse the silverware. After a 10 minutes soak, the tarnish will be gone. Just rinse and wipe dry.

Mattresses can get a bit stale over time and are a bit tough to clean. Here’s a fast and easy way to clean and freshen a mattress. First, vacuum your mattress to get rid of any crumbs. Then, sprinkle baking soda directly onto your mattress to cover the entire top. Let it sit for about an hour to soak up the odors, then vacuum it up.

Spray the entire carpet stain with a mixture of 2 parts water with 1 part vinegar. Place a damp rag over the spot, then press a hot iron over the towel until the stain has been completely removed from the carpet.

Use baking soda and Hydrogen Peroxide to easily clean baking sheets. Make a mixture of 1/4 cup baking soda and hydrogen peroxide (should have the consistency of paste) and rub the cookie sheet. Let it sit for a few hours before rinsing.
