Researchers at the Radiological Society of North America 2016 Annual Meeting suggested 3D printing models could be used to watch the internal organs of a fetus to assess any complications or abnormalities. They proposed that these 3D models can also be used to determine how the baby will look post-birth.
This 3D infused MRI technology gives a clearer and higher quality image as opposed to the ultrasound scans.
Sequentially-mounted MRI slices are used as a raw material to begin the construction of the model.
