What are stretch marks and why do we get them?
Stretch marks are white or purple lines made from distension, which is in fact the tearing of the dermis (skin). Even though our skin is elastic and adaptable to any excessive weight gain, stretching or changes of the body, sometimes this rapid change process takes its turn and tears it leading to appearance of stretch marks.
These stretch marks can occur on any area on the skin, most common on the thighs, abdomen and arms. Stretch marks may ruin the appearance of your body and usually occur after giving birth, because of the changes in the body and weight gain and also during puberty while most of your body parts change overnight.
And the last cause for stretch marks is genetics. If your parents have them you will most probably inherit stretch marks as well.
