Black tomato is a vegetable that uses anthocyanin – antioxidant that can help in the fight against cancer because it kills cancer cells.
It was first grown in Great Britain. It was found by Ray Brown (66 year old gardener). One of his clients sent him a package with sign “black tomato”. He decided to plant the seed and the tomato that grew was pretty fascinating.
The unusual color comes from black color’s pigment which affects the tomato when it is in the sun. Its taste is very strong.
